Apparently, the deal with George Michael on American Idol was: he had a cold (which I guess he said to Ryan, but I didn't hear it), and he's skinny for his tour (he went on some crash diet or something after tabloids called him "chubby" a while back).

Sorry to worry anyone, he just freaked me out!

See new icon for my hopes for next week.

David Cook... dude. Semi-hit, big miss, and a meh. You're scaring me right now. Please don't pull a Daughtry/Tamyra/Yamin on me and not make the final!! You're all I have left!!

However, Diane Warren sitting next to your Mom is pretty cool! And you did get the pimp spot.

The night I miss "Idol" is the night they do Broadway songs (Andrew Lloyd Webber, specifically). Oh well. Judging by Broadway nights of old, I probably didn't miss much.

Hopefully, the only favorite I have left won't be going anywhere (yes, I know I have two left in my icon, but David Cook is really the only one left to root for. Nothing against Carley, I'm just... kind of "over" her).

...American Idol, for two things: for finally ridding me of the thorn in my side, and featuring two musical guests I was happy to see. :)

seems every time I make an icon of favorites for Idol, those people are systematically voted off.

*sigh* Another one bites the dust. )
Whatever, America.

Forgot to mention:

Real nice, America, way to cut one of my top 5 before Kristy Lee Cook, simply because she sang a patriotic song. Granted, it also happened to be the first time she's been on pitch in I don't know how long, but still....

AMERICAN IDOL, SEASEON SEVEN - top 8 females

  • Asia'h Epperson. I really enjoyed her performance ("I Wanna Dance With Somebody"). There's a certain place in the song which has always been a challenge for me; I listened for it in her version, and... she nailed it. Great energy, nice outfit, too (Paula moment there, sorry).

  • Kady Malloy. Leave. Seriously.

  • Amanda Overmyer. Certainly better than she's been lately, and in my top 3 for last night. However, a couple of things bug me about her: she hasn't really lived up to the promise of her audition, and also, I'm starting to think her voice doesn't really sound that way naturally... that it's just her gimmick.

  • Carly Smithson. Not as good as she can be, but pretty good.

  • Kristy Lee Cook. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord spilt ya!

  • Remiele Malubay. My favorite contestant this season. No, not just because she's Filipina. ;) That said, however... she's capable of so much more than that. Still my favorite of the night, though.

  • Brooke White. No. Just. No. I'm all for "making it your own," or whatever, but, seriously? Turning "Love is a Battlefield" into essentially a folk song? No thanks. I'd hate to see her go, though, because I think she has potential.

  • Syesha Mercado. meh. Not bad. Not fabulous.

FAVES: Remiele, Amanda, Asia'h
